About Evan...
Carrying forward the American studio furniture tradition, Evan L. Court designs and builds refined, functional works that reflect a deep respect for history and handcraft.
His work blends historical influence with original design, creating timeless pieces that balance elegance, utility, and a commitment to enduring craftsmanship.
Rooted in the lineage of fourth-generation studio furniture makers—independent artisans working outside mass production—Evan draws from French and early American period furniture, shaping classical forms without being bound by them.
Each piece is individually designed and built in his workshop — a restored 1920s grocery store in Dallas, Texas — using traditional joinery, time-honored techniques, and carefully selected materials.
Evan is a graduate of the North Bennet Street School’s Cabinet and Furniture Making program in Boston, one of the country’s premier craft schools. He honed his skills further through apprenticeships before establishing his own studio practice, continuing the legacy of makers who believe furniture should be both beautiful and built to last.
